I have a confession to make. I am an addict – addicted to conferences. I would like to stand up and out myself in front of the world as a person who is endlessly in awe of new ideas and even old ideas that are repackaged and dressed up in new books. I walk away from conferences full of energy and fascination, with a new lease on life.
This year’s World Business and Executive Coaching Summit (WBECS) is the source of this year’s joy – and I want to share it with you. I’ve never been so inspired to learn more and delve deeper into the world of executive coaching and leadership. I am humbled and awed by the people who have had the life experiences to think outside the box. And I am grateful that they share!
One of my favorite sessions was entitled “Coaching Team Leaders to Improve Team Performance,” led by John Leary-Joyce, the President of the Academy of Executive Coaching. I love that coaches offer guidance and inspiration to team leaders, and I love that coaching has become such a respected field when it stands beside organizational development. Add those two together, et voila! the team leaders can now understand that there is another effective, sound way to improve the team’s performance through coaching. Kind of like a trickle-down effect, but more like effectiveness radiating out from center.
What could be cooler than that?

So I’m ready to jump into all of the ideas and the books that Leary-Joyce recommends, and I’m ready to embark on the journey of watching my clients develop themselves and then spread the wealth.
